According to an author, many Christians who know John 3:16 are not familiar with 1 John 4: 19-21:

"We love because He loved us first. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is liar. For whoever who does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And He has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister."

To me, this connotes that to love implies acceptance of one another as children of God to whom we take credit of every opportunity that comes to love our brethren or to even love more. Love has always been present and will never depart in this world. As believers, all we have to do is to simply nurture and spread that love, but not use it irregularly.

Forever and always, love will always win. It will always prevail. It will always reign. As of the present days that humanity faces a very distinct, more perplexed, confusing, almost destructive issue about morality, the word Love has truly became the most misused word of all.

Brothers and sisters, you and I are called to be shepherd of our own flock and a good shepherd never leaves anyone in his flock behind because he simply loves them for good. To love is to lay down one's life for others, not to degrade them. To love is an act of surrendering one's ego, not to boast. To love is to live by the truth, not to dwell on lies. And to love is to acknowledge that there is God.

And there is One ultimate great author of Love who is Christ, our living God. It is through Him that Love was given life and meaning. And through His death that Love won over sin.
